FAQs
Five commonly asked questions that have come through
Q: Do I have to be a part of Up Coaching to come along?
A: Absolutely not and we welcome athletes from all over. We run these tours under Up & About Running which is a separate entity. Our tour party last year was made up of both current Up Coaching athletes and those from the wider running community.
Q: Do I have to be a fast runner to participate in the tour?
A: Definitely not! Our tours are just that, more ‘tours with running’ than ‘training camp’. We welcome any runner with a reasonable level of fitness and sense of adventure and fun. We will group you with similar runners and with your own coach so you get the most out of your time in the mountains.
Q: Is there a race at the start/end of the tour that I can do?
A: There sure is! We have timed the tour so you get to to have the option of staying around in Chamonix for the Mont-Blanc Marathon events (VK, 23km, 42km, 90km options) which start 5-7 days (according to the race chosen) after the tour.
Q: Will there be free time for sightseeing included?
A: Absolutely! Our runs tend to be all in the morning and we encourage all guests to use their afternoons for sightseeing, taking in Chamonix or other recreational activities around town such as paragliding, mountain biking, shopping etc.
Q: Are meals included?
A: All breakfasts and dinners are included and meals have a French flavour. Meals are cooked by chefs in the chalet and we also include an ‘eating out’ experience in a restaurant in Chamonix. Because we’re of course in France, wine is also included with all dinners.
